Dr. Veena Roshan Jose serves as an Assistant Professor of Law and Head (I/C) of the Centre for Environmental Law, at Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Nagpur, where she teaches Health Laws, Medical Law & Ethics, Human Rights, Environmental Law, Forensic Science, and Medical Jurisprudence. She also holds the additional responsibility of Chief Warden (Halls of Residence- Girls). Prior to joining MNLU, Nagpur she has a rich experience in teaching at NUALS, Kochi and DNLU, Jabalpur. Before joining academia, she had a rich experience as a practicing advocate at the High Court of Kerala.

She earned her Ph.D. in Law from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, with a specialisation in Medical Law & Ethics. Holding dual specialisations for LL.M. in Human Rights and Environmental Law, Dr. Veena is keenly interested in the interdisciplinary approach in the fields of human rights, ethical, legal, and social aspects of healthcare. Furthermore, she lends her expertise by serving on the Institutional Ethics Committee as a Legal Expert Member, providing ethical-legal guidance and recommendations in clinical research contexts. She is also associated with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala, in drafting policy documents relating to the Certification of Brain-Stem Death.

She has authored the titles "Human Body as Property: Legal Dimensions" and "Legal Regulation of Medical Practice in India", published by Thomson Reuters. She has also co- edited volumes like "Changing Dimensions of Human Rights in the Globalising World" and "Climate Change Crisis: Assessing the Actions for the Future". Her scholarly output also includes multiple research articles and book chapters published in reputed journals and edited volumes.

Dr. Veena is also a sought-after speaker, resource person, and panellist at various international and national conferences. She has delivered expert lectures and chaired sessions on topics ranging from human rights, and environmental law, to climate change and medical ethics. Her engagements include expert lectures at premier institutions, such as IIMs, IITs, IIIT, IIFM, NIT, NLS Bangalore, NLU Jodhpur, GNLU Gujarat, NLU Mumbai, NUALS Kochi, DNLU Jabalpur, Government Medical Colleges, and various other universities, hospitals and colleges, where she has trained students and healthcare professionals, participated in national policy discussions, and contributed to faculty development programs.
