Dr. Jagdish Wamanrao Khobragade is an Assistant Professor of Law (SG) at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur (MNLU Nagpur). He served as an Associate Professor of Law at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai), during 2025-2026 on lien. During his tenure at MNLU Mumbai, he also held the additional responsibility of Assistant Registrar (Academics) and was actively involved in academic and administrative affairs of the University. Prior to joining MNLU Nagpur, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University), Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, from 2013 to 2020.

Dr. Khobragade completed his B.A. LL.B. (Five-Year Integrated Course) from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law (Main Branch), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, in 2007. He enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in 2007. In 2010, he obtained his LL.M. from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, with a specialisation in Human Rights Law. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Law by Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, in 2023 for his doctoral thesis titled "Patent Regime and Access to Medicine: A Human Rights Approach."

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Khobragade has held several administrative and professional positions. He served as Assistant Project Director at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Training Institute, Pune, and also worked with Transport Corporation of India Private Limited. At MNLU Nagpur, he served as Assistant Registrar (Administration-II) and subsequently as Deputy Registrar (Establishment) from November 2024 to September 2025. He was also entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the University's PG Diploma Courses.

With more than 13 years of teaching experience in law, Dr. Khobragade's academic and research interests include Labour and Industrial Laws, Labour Policy, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Public Health, Access to Medicines, Social Inclusion, Maritime Law, and Human Rights Law. His research particularly focuses on the Intersection of Law, Social Justice, Public Health, Intellectual Property, and Human Rights.

Dr. Khobragade has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic programmes, where he has presented research papers on contemporary legal and interdisciplinary issues. He has delivered more than 40 guest lectures as a resource person in Faculty Development Programmes, Refresher Courses, training programmes, and interdisciplinary academic programmes organised by institutions including IIIT Nagpur, Human Resource Development Centres, Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, DAV institutions, Indore, and other academic institutions.

He has also served as visiting Faculty at IIM Rohtak, where he teaches Labour Policy and Intellectual Property Rights. He has been associated with legal aid initiatives and has served as Faculty Advisor to the Legal Aid Centre since 2021. He has also served as a subject expert for various Public Service Commissions and as Nodal Officer of the Pro Bono Club at MNLU Nagpur.

Dr. Khobragade has contributed substantially to digital and online legal education. He has developed nine e-content modules for B.A. and B.Sc. programmes on various subjects and eight modules for the undergraduate MOOC titled "Understanding Political Theory," submitted to the University Grants Commission-Consortium for Educational Communication (UGC-CEC), New Delhi. These educational resources are available through the SWAYAM platform.

His research contributions include 16 research publications in National and International Journals, including three publications in Scopus-indexed journals. He has also contributed more than six chapters to edited books published by reputed international and national publishers, including Springer, Routledge, and SAGE.
