Mr. Siddharth Saxena
Assistant Professor of Law (Ad-hoc)
Prof. Siddharth Saxena joined the Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur as an Assistant Professor of Law in July 2025. He previously served as a Faculty of Law at the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Online Gaming Law from the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. He qualified UGC-NET (Law) in 2023. He did his LL.M (Hons.) with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law from the National Law University, Jodhpur in 2022 with a dissertation work on the ‘Interplay of Blockchain Technology and Intellectual Property’. He completed his B.A.LL.B. (Criminal Law Hons.) from the School of Law, UPES Dehradun in 2021. His teaching and research expertise spans Evidence Law, Civil Procedural Law, Limitation Law, Criminal Law, Gaming Law, Forensic Science and Labour Law. |
Prior to joining as a faculty at DNLU Jabalpur, he practised as an advocate regularly appearing before District Courts and the High Court of Madhya Pradesh. At the core of his teaching pedagogy is the belief that law is a living subject and cannot be studied in isolation. He extensively refers to real life situations in classrooms allowing students to connect grass-root realities of law with the legal theory. |
Prof. Siddharth's research work has been published by various reputed international publishers such as Springer Nature, Thomson Reuters, IGI-Global as well as reputed national publishers. His work has been indexed by SCOPUS as well. His research has been published by peer- reviewed journals of NLUs such as NLU Assam, DNLU Jabalpur and MNLU-CS to name a few. He serves as a Reviewer for the prestigious SCOPUS-indexed (Q2 Journal) the Journal of Intellectual Property Rights (JIPR) published by CSIR-NIScPR (Council of Scientific & Industrial Research - National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research) which operates under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. He is also part of the Review Board for the Vantage: A Journal of Law & Social Sciences, published by the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. |
Beyond his research, Prof. Siddharth has served as a resource person for the Madhya Pradesh Police and law enforcement agencies for various capacity building programs, and workshops. He has chaired sessions at various international and national conferences. His policy contributions include research on the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, submitted to the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India and work on Artificial Intelligence submitted to the 22nd Law Commission of India. He frequently serves as a judge for various national legal competitions such as Parliamentary Debates, Client Counselling Competitions, Moot Court Competitions, Mediation Competitions etc. |
At DNLU, he also served as Faculty Member to the Centre for Advocacy, Practice and Research in Intellectual Property (CAPRIP) and the Centre for Research in Dharmashastras and Indic Jurisprudence (CRDIJ). He has been instrumental in organizing numerous international and national conferences, seminars, and capacity-building programs, including those sponsored by the WTO Chairs Programme under the World Trade Organization, Centre for Trade and Investment Law under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. |
