Ms. Ishita Singh

Assistant Professor of Law (Ad-hoc)

Ms. Ishita Singh is an Assistant Professor of Law at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. She teaches Principles of Legislation and Interpretation of Statutes, Competition Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at the University. She completed LL.M. from AISECT University, Bhopal, and B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. She is UGC-NET qualified and has certifications in Competition Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution from reputed institutions, including NLIU, Bhopal and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). She also attended the School of Law, University of Washington, Seattle, as part of the Patent & IP Law Summer Institute, on a scholarship.

Prior to joining Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, she served as Faculty at the Department of Legal Studies and Research, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, where she taught undergraduate and postgraduate law courses, including Environmental Law, Company Law, Offences Against Children, Women and Criminal Law. She also undertook various academic and institutional responsibilities, including participation in faculty committees and environmental initiatives.

In addition to her academic experience, she has professional experience in the legal sector, with work spanning legal drafting, policy review, and advisory support on a range of corporate and regulatory matters.

Her research contributions span areas including child protection laws, wildlife conservation, copyright in academia, and sustainable development, with publications and presentations at national and international forums. She has also actively participated in faculty development programmes and workshops focused on contemporary developments in law and the advancement of legal education.
