Ms. Apeksha Kamble

Assistant Professor of Law (Ad-hoc)

Ms. Apeksha Rajendra Kamble is an Assistant Professor of Law at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. She is an alumna of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. Ms. Kamble teaches core and interdisciplinary courses including Law of Torts, Law of Contracts, Law and Technology, Data Protection & Privacy Laws and Clinical Legal Education (Legal Aid: Law & Practice). She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur and holds an LL.M. in Technology & Law from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur. She has also qualified the UGC-NET (Law). In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has undertaken academic and administrative responsibilities at the University, including serving as Assistant Registrar (Academics) and Faculty Warden for the Girls’ Hostel. She is also faculty member in Centre for Law, Technology and Policy and Centre for Criminology, Criminal Justice and Forensic Science.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of law, technology, and social justice. Ms. Kamble has published research articles in various journals which include works on algorithmic discrimination and constitutional rights, autonomous weapons and legal accountability, technological bias against marginalised communities, and dispute resolution in the Indian telecommunications sector and human rights in the metaverse. She has presented research papers at several national and international academic conferences on diverse contemporary themes, including legal education and clinical pedagogy, gender justice and women empowerment, metaverse-related sexual violence, artificial intelligence and digital governance, intellectual property in virtual realities, AI in healthcare, climate change and human rights, and lethal autonomous weapons from an international humanitarian law perspective. She was also awarded Best Presentation in the Faculty Category at a National Conference on Sustainable Futures for her research on the role of the judiciary in framing climate change as a human rights concern in India.

She has participated in several Faculty Development Programmes focusing on law, technology, digital governance, artificial intelligence, cyber law, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and legal research and publication ethics. She has also served as a judge in moot court, trial advocacy, article writing, and research competitions organised by various institutions. Ms. Kamble has also contributed to empirical and interdisciplinary research as a Research Assistant on an ICSSR-funded project on Women and Corporate Social Responsibility, examining gender justice in the planning and execution of corporate social responsibilities in selected organisations of Maharashtra. Prior to her full-time academic engagement, she practised before the District and Sessions Court, Consumer Court, and Family Court at Nagpur, gaining professional experience in civil, family, and consumer law matters. She has also served as Visiting Faculty at G. H. Raisoni Law College, Nagpur, and RTMNU’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Nagpur.
