The Post Graduate One Year Master of Laws (LL.M) Degree Programme |
Programme Description:
The One Year LL.M Degree Programme is offered in accordance with the UGC One Year LL.M Programme guidelines and regulations approved by the University Statutory Councils. The One Year LL.M Programme caters to the advanced academic and research needs of students who desire to pursue higher education in law with a focus on joining legal academia, judicial service or ligation. The Course is designed to address a diverse interest group with a varied interest and carrier plans. Keeping in mind the special academic interest of advanced legal study and to inculcate a strong analytical ability in the students the curriculum has a strong focus on research and presentation. A pool of committed faculties of the University under the guidance of the Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies take appropriate care of the intellectual development of the LL.M students by applying innovate and interdisciplinary teaching-learning tools. |
Programme Objective:
Students admitted to One Year LL.M. Degree Programme pursue specialised LL.M. They have to complete three mandatory papers and six elective papers and a dissertation in order to complete the programme. Students are required to opt for elective papers in a particular specialisation and secure an LL.M with that specialization. The University offers specialisations in very contemporary and unique areas of legal studies. At present Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur has following specializations: (1) Corporate and Commercial Laws; (2) Intellectual Property Laws; (3) Constitutional Law; (4) Personal Laws; and (5) Energy Laws. The University continues to expand the number of specialization areas with increasing faculty expertise. |
