- National Rounds of Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition, 2019
The University in association with AIR Law Academy and Research Centre, Nagpur and Forum of South Asian Clinical Law Teachers organized Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition, 2019 from February 1-3, 2019 at the University premises. The Competition was first established in the Year 1969 by Louis M. Brown adopted by the American Bar Association in the Year 1972 and the International Competition was inaugurated in the Year 1985. This Competition provides and exciting opportunity for the Law Students to learn and practice interviewing and counselling skills. This year the International Rounds of the Competition will be hosted by the Law Society of Ireland at Dublin, Ireland and it is pertinent to mention that MNLU, Nagpur takes immense pride in hosting the India Rounds.
Thirty-Five (35) teams across the Country participated in the Three (03) day Competition which was held from February 1-3, 2019. Final Rounds of the Competition was held on February 3, 2019 at the University which was adjudged by Hon'ble Shri Justice S.B. Shukre, Judge, Bombay High Court, Bench at Nagpur, Prof. (Dr.) M.R.K. Prasad, National Coordinator of the Competition and Adv. R.P. Joshi, Senior Advocate, High Court. NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and Army Institute of Law, Mohali competed in the Finals and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad is declared as the Winner of the Competition. The Valedictory Function of the Competition was held at the University, wherein Hon'ble Shri Justice S.B. Shukre, Judge, Bombay High Court, Bench at Nagpur was the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) M.R.K. Prasad and Adv. R.P. Joshi were the Guest of Honors. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Faculty Advisor, ADR Society welcomed the guests, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar declared the winners. Prof. (Dr.) M.R.K. Prasad submitted the detailed report about the Three (03) day Competition. In his valedictory speech Hon'ble Shri Justice S.B. Shukre emphasized about the importance of client in the profession of advocacy and congratulated the Winners and Runner Up for putting their best performance. Prof. C. Ramesh Kumar, Registrar (I/c) proposed Vote of Thanks.
